1. Be Specific About Industry
Bad: "Marketing companies." Good: "Performance marketing agencies focused on e-commerce."
2. Add Quantity
"Find 25 dental clinics" returns better-matched results than "find dental clinics" (which might return 200).
3. Specify Location Granularity
"Brooklyn" not "New York". "Mayfair London" not "London". The smaller the area, the more relevant the matches.
4. Use Quality Signals
Add "4+ stars" or "with 100+ reviews" to filter out noise.
5. Combine Multiple Criteria
"Italian restaurants in Manhattan with 4+ stars and delivery" returns much higher precision than any single filter.
6. Iterate
First search returns too many? Add a filter. Returns too few? Loosen one. Each iteration takes 5 seconds.
7. Use Negation
"Restaurants in Chicago not chains" or "Tech companies in Austin not consulting".
